Accuracy of Search Engines

I am sure that some of my answers aren't accurate, but the degree of accuracy must be high. In order to make my answers as accurate as possible, I have tried to limit myself to known websites. For statistical information, I have consulted newspaper websites and archives where factual information can be found. However for some definitions, each website has a different answer, therefore my answers can't be completly correct.

Search engines rank the stuff they find in the internet according to the keywords you have supplied in the box. The frequency and placing of the keywords you have entered also depends on the ranking of the answers the search engine gives you. For example, whether or not your keywords appear in the title, whether they are together or seperated, and how often they occur in the given text.
This is also how the search engines decide which page comes at the top of the search results.

I prefer to use google when searching on the internet as it supplies me with the most accurate and relevent information. It is also easy to use.

When googling my name some results of exams surface from my past schools. This is a little scary that anyone can research this information about me, including future employers. It is even scarier that I can't erase this information or stop people searching it.

Using new communication technologies

friend:

n.
1. A person whom one knows, likes, and trusts.

At different stages in my life I have had different friends. Some have remained friends. Some have unfortunately reduced to acquaintances. Although, with new communication technologies, I have been able to stay connected with many of them.

However, I must admit that I am more enthusiastic and motivated to contact my immediate friends. On facebook, myspace and other profile pages that I have been persuaded to join, I have numerous friends, but only a handful which I communicate with on a regular basis. Therefore my relationships with others is not necessary affected.

With the invention of mobile phones communication has become quick and efficient. Access to the internet is not always available which is why the reliable, portable mobile phone is so popular and effective in communicating with friends worldwide.

I have grown up through the age of internet and mobile phones, so I don't know a world without these materials. I admit that the reason why I started using most of these popular fads was because everyone was involved and I was intrigued. I use these new communication technologies to interact with friends and if they did not use them, what would be the incentive for me to?

I guess there are "randoms" or such that have added me on msn, myspace or other profile pages, but I have not interacted with them. I know many people that have met others over the internet and label them as "friends", but they can't compare to your everyday friends. How can you trust someone you meet in cyberspace? How can you know someone you meet through words and a screen? How can you even know if you like the person that's sitting on the other side of the computer? Therefore, how can you classify them as friends?

Introduction to Me

As a fresh out of high school eighteen year old Kiwi, I boarded a budget no-entertainment-no-meals-supplied plane to begin my new life in the land of Aus. Leaving my much loved piano, car, family and friends behind in the "City of Sails", I have moved to the weather-predictable Gold Coast to study law and the occassional art subjects. Ever since I started high school I have held an interest in law, so it has been inevitable that I would move into this area of study when the time came for me to move onto tertiary study.

Since arriving here i have managed to satisfy my frequent icecream cravings and crazy nighttime runs. I have met many interesting people who have helped me familiarise myself with this city, complicated campus of Griffith and the confusing public transport system. Travelling along the coast of Queensland is one of my intentions for this year alongside studying.

This is merely an introduction to me, more unique characteristics of my personality will become evident in future posts.
